What started out as a volleyball visit for his younger sister turned out to be a highly productive football weekend for three-star tight end Christian Morgan (Plano, Texas/Prestonwood Christian).
Morgan, a 6-foot-4, 250-pound end, tagged along with his family for a trip to Ole Miss in Oxford, Miss., as his sister, sophomore outside hitter Ashley Morgan, was in town for a volleyball trip. He ended up taking in the campus for his own benefit, visiting the football program and meeting with members of the Rebels coaching staff.
“[It went] really well,” Morgan said of the trip. “I think I have a top four in my head, and they’re in there.”
While visiting Ole Miss, Morgan picked up an offer from another SEC program: Mississippi State. He was offered by receivers coach Angelo Mirando. Morgan now holds 18 offers from FBS programs, including Baylor, Cal and Miami, and SEC schools Ole Miss, Arkansas, Missouri and Vanderbilt. He declined to announce his top four.
“I’m going to just keep it quiet right now,” he said. “I’m still open though.”
Morgan is ranked the No. 8 tight end in the 2013 recruiting class. He also is ranked No. 53 among players in Texas.
