Linebacker Eric Beisel (Fenton, Mo./Rockwood Summit) picked up an offer from Indiana on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-3, 236-pound inside backer upped his offer list to six, as Indiana joined Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas, Nebraska and Kansas. Indiana offensive coordinator Seth Littrell extended the offer.
“They said they meant to offer me about a month ago, but they were kind of getting behind,” Beisel said of the Hoosiers. “I hadn’t called them back in a while, but they’ve been Facebooking me for the past couple of nights. They told me I’m one of their top guys, and they wanted me to come down the first week of June.”
Beisel has been one of the fastest-rising players in the state of Missouri. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.56 seconds, and he bench presses 405 pounds and squats 505. Beisel said his offseason has been dedicated to getting quicker and stronger in an effort to increase his value for college scouts.
“My freshman year, I got moved up to varsity, and I got knocked around few times,” Beisel said. “Right after my freshman year, I decided to hit the weight room hard. After my sophomore year, I started to shine, and my junior year, I shined even more.
“I get up at 6:15 [a.m.] every morning to lift before school. I feel like all my work really is paying off.”
In addition to his offers, Beisel has received interest from Ohio State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Georgia and a few other schools.
