Five months ago, quarterback Trent Hosick (Kansas City, Mo./Staley) and linebacker Nick Ramirez (Lee’s Summit, Mo./Lee’s Summit West) were on opposite ends of one of Missouri’s greatest playoff games ever – a 76-70, four-overtime, Missouri Class 5 state-semifinal game won by Staley.
Hosick and Ramirez currently play for two schools that are budding rivals. When February 2013 arrives, they will sign national letters of intent as teammates. The two athletes – major competitors on the field, friends off it – both verbally committed to Missouri during the Tigers’ spring game Saturday afternoon.
Both confirmed to ESPN.com via text message that they had pledged to the Tigers.
The two became Missouri’s seventh and eighth commitments of the 2013 recruiting class. All eight commitments are in-state athletes.
