Location plays role in Benenoch's decision

At 6-foot-6 and 321 pounds, Caleb Benenoch (Katy, Texas/Seven Lakes) was a major target for several schools at the offensive tackle spot. On Tuesday, Benenoch chose to take his talents to the Big Ten Conference, verbally committing to Michigan State.

While he had offers to other programs, one thing in particular sold him on Michigan State.

“I wanted to leave the south to play football. That was a big thing in choosing Michigan State,” Benenoch said. “I’d been in love with [Michigan State] for a while, about a little over a month, and I said if Michigan State was going to offer, that’s where I would go.”
