Two-star offensive tackle Chase Walling (Dallas/Lake Highlands) confirmed early Monday morning that he has changed his commitment from North Texas to SMU.
Walling visited SMU over the weekend and said the opportunity to play college football and get a degree from a highly recognized academic institution proved to be enough to make the switch. Walling, who made the switch late Sunday night, was recruited by running backs coach Wes Saun.
A 6-foot-5, 270-pound tackle, Walling also had offers from Kansas State and Marshall. He garnered early interest from Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech and Ole Miss. He is the Mustangs’ 19th commitment.
