Scouts: Nice addition for Baylor's D

Baylor, who is making a push to try and crack the top 25 class rankings, just strengthened their class some with a verbal from four-star D-Lineman Javonte Magee (San Antonio, Texas/Houston).

A player with good size and a frame to add more good mass, he will likely settle into a three-technique for the Bears, but could potentially play End or be a good swing player for them across their defensive line. He does need to watch his pad level and you would like to see him play with a bit more explosiveness, but he displays good raw strength, uses his hands well, and moves well for his size.

There is room for improvement and development, but for a Baylor team who made waves this year with their quarterback and offense and needs to improve on defense, a player like Magee is a good pick-up as he as the tools to be a very productive college D-Lineman.
