For the Class of 2014, Texas State is addressing potential wide receiver questions early.
Last week, Marcus Perkins Jr. (Garland, Texas/Naaman Forest) became Texas State’s first pledge of the 2014 class. Saturday evening, P.J. Anderson (San Antonio/Taft) became commit No. 2 for the Bobcats. Anderson, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound receiver, also had interest from UTSA.
“It feels good. I’m pretty excited,” Anderson said. “I wish I could start already.”
Anderson was a second-team, all-district selection for Taft. Recruited by cornerbacks coach Jason Washington, he last visited Texas State for its junior day two weeks ago.
“The offense is kind of the same as my high school’s,” Anderson said. “I know I will be familiar to it. It just felt right, like I fit in there.”
Anderson caught 40 passes for 562 yards and four touchdowns during his junior year. He also rushed 20 times for 131 yards.
