UTSA had a strong Sunday, pulling three commitments. On Monday, it continued to pick up athletes, landing a three-star athlete once committed to Texas Tech.
Cornerback Aneas Henricks (Bastrop, Texas/Bastrop) became the 19th member of the Roadrunners’ 2013 recruiting class, as he verbally committed late Monday morning. The 6-foot, 172-pound cornerback, who recently parted ways with the Red Raiders, was recruited by receivers coach Tony Jeffery.
“Everything on the campus was beautiful,” Henricks said. “I liked everything they showed me, and I can see myself staying there the next four years.”
Safety Cody Berry served as Henricks’ player host. He picked UTSA over offers from Kentucky, Cincinnati, Texas State and Wake Forest.
UTSA proved to be a leader early, primarily because of the potential opportunity to see early playing time.
“I know they’re short on corners. That could be good for me,” Henricks said. “If I can come in this summer and compete, I can have a good chance to play.”
