Spring Branch (Texas) Smithson Valley running back Lawrence Mattison had the chance stay close to home, but the family feel and comfort that the Oregon State coaches provided the three-star running back led Mattison to become a Beaver.
The 6-foot-1, 225-pound back committed to Oregon State on Friday, choosing to head to Corvallis, Ore., over the chance to play at nearby UTSA.
"I'm really excited," Mattison told RecruitingNation on Friday night. "It made my day that much better. It makes me comfortable that I have a school to go to instead of not knowing."
