When looking for a school, one of the things Blinn College (Texas) center Chance McCormack was playing time. Lamar offered that chance and because of that, McCormack will sign with the Cardinals on Wednesday, the first day that mid-year transfers can sign a letter of intent.
The 6-foot-3, 290-pound McCormack liked what the FCS program had to offer as far as playing time, the quality of facilities to the location of Beaumont, Texas, which isn't far from his hometown of Dayton, Texas.
When he visited the Lamar campus in November to see the Cardinals host Nicholls State, he was impressed and committed just two days after his visit.
