WACO, Texas -- The memory of losing to Katy 45-33 on Saturday in the state semifinals will stick with Matthew Simmons for a while.
The 2014 Cibolo Steele defensive end watched most of it helplessly from the sidelines. In the first quarter of the game, Simmons dislocated his left elbow.
“My whole body went down, but my arm stayed up,” he said. “It popped out and I popped it back into place, but then I started to feel woozy.”
