Junior offensive lineman David Tachie (McKinney, Texas/McKinney) is a proud member of an offense that produces 472 yards per game in Texas’ largest high school classification. The 6-foot-3, 280-pound guard has done his part in not only keeping quarterback Robert Somborn’s jersey clean but also helping McKinney to a 5-2 record in a competitive district.
Tachie’s play has grabbed the attention of several FBS schools, including Iowa, Boise State, Mississippi State, Missouri and BYU. Tachie is looking to be considered one of the Dallas area’s top guards, regardless of classification, by the end of the season.
“I could play some tackle or DT, but that’s my most desired position,” Tachie said. “[I want to] show coaches my physicality, quick feet and that I’m very coachable.”
Tachie participated in camps hosted by TCU, Houston and Baylor over the summer.
