Monte Harrison (Lee’s Summit, Mo./Lee’s Summit West) opened the season with a four-reception, 119-yard, two-touchdown performance against defending Missouri Class 5 champion Kansas City Staley. Since then, he has emerged as the team’s top receiving option and a reliable punt and kickoff return man.
Missouri was one of the schools to take notice of the 2014 receiver, and the Tigers recently became the first team to extend a football scholarship offer. A 6-foot-3, 185-pound, three-sport standout, Harrison added the Missouri football offer to his offers from Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas to play baseball. Harrison is a star center fielder in the spring.
“It felt really good to get that off my chest,” Harrison said of the football offer. “Now, I can just go out, play football and do what I’ve been doing.”
