From a recruiting standpoint, much is said about the Cedar Hill, Texas, twosome of ESPN 150 athlete LaQuvionte Gonzalez and 6-foot-3, 175-pound, three-star receiver Quincy Adeboyejo, two players headed to Texas A&M next season.
Like his teammates, quarterback Damion Hobbs has had his recruiting moments, as well. The three-star Arkansas State commit has been focused more on getting his team back on track, as Cedar Hill evened its record Friday to 3-3 with a 55-37 win against South Grand Prairie (Texas).
Hobbs, who said he is 100 percent solid on his commitment to the Red Wolves, put on a show, completing 17 of 21 passes for 284 yards, 6 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.
“I have been just staying on top of my grades and just staying focused,” Hobbs said. “I’ve been taking each week as not only a chance to better my team but [also] better myself as I get ready for A-State.”
Hobbs, a big-bodied, strong-armed quarterback, has added 15 pounds to his frame and is now 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds. He has thrown for 1,096 yards, 14 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions, and he also has rushed for 407 yards and 3 touchdowns.
