High two-star defensive end Alex Keith (Columbia, Mo./Hickman) confirmed that he has committed to Minnesota.
Keith, a 6-foot,-3, 236-pound defensive end with 4.6 speed in the 40-yard dash, chose Minnesota over offers from Northern Iowa and Missouri State. He also had interest from Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma State and Kansas State.
Keith said he made an unofficial visit to the campus two weeks ago and will make an official visit the weekend of Dec. 9. Keith was recruited by assistant coach Brian Anderson, and he is projected to be a weakside defensive end for the Gophers.
