Offensive tackle Kyle Morrison (Lee’s Summit, Mo./Lee’s Summit West) has an offer from New Mexico, but after Saturday’s nationally televised performance against Kansas City (Mo.) Staley, he’s hoping his one offer could turn into multiple offers. Morrison said he has been hearing mostly from Missouri and Indiana. The 6-foot-3, 285-pound lineman also is hearing from Nebraska.
He was part of an offensive line that compiled 258 yards of total offense -- the majority of that coming in the first half -- against a Staley team that defeated Lee’s Summit West in an epic, four-overtime clash in last year’s Missouri Class 5 state semifinal.
“I think it helped my recruiting a lot,” Morrison said of playing on national TV. “It gave schools who are on the fence with me a chance to evaluate, and it gave me great exposure to other coaches who might not have been recruiting me in the past.”
Morrison helped his recruiting stock by attending camps this summer at Missouri, Nebraska, Indiana and New Mexico. At 6-foot-3 and 285 pounds, he plays tackle for Lee’s Summit West but believes he will end up as an interior lineman in college.
“I’ll play wherever my team needs me,” he said.
