Back in July, Hunter Jarmon (Waco, Texas/Midway) announced to ESPN four of his five official visits. On Saturday, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound wide receiver announced visit No. 5. He also picked up another FBS offer.
Jarmon said he will take an official to Texas Tech on Oct. 6, when the Red Raiders host Oklahoma. The Tech visit will be added to previously scheduled official visits to Kansas (Sept. 15), Minnesota (Sept. 22), Iowa State (Sept. 29) and Oregon State (Nov. 3).
“I really like the coaching staff at Tech,” said Jarmon, who’s being recruited by Red Raiders receivers coach Tommy Mainord. “Coach Mainord and I have made a relationship throughout this recruiting process.”
Jarmon has 10 offers, the latest coming from Washington State on Saturday. Jarmon is being recruited by Cougars receivers coach Eric Morris.
Missouri, SMU and Tulsa are among the other programs to offer. Of the five visits, Texas Tech has not offered, but the program has shown significant interest.
The son of former Baylor running back James Jarmon (1984-87), Hunter caught 44 passes for 811 yards and 11 touchdowns and was named a co-offensive player of the year in his district last year. He said he would like to make a college decision before the end of December.
“[I want] to see the facilities,” Jarmon said, “and to get my perspective in person on what the coaches are telling me about their schools.”
