When three-star running back Dez Wortham (Carrollton, Texas/Hebron) picked up his 11th offer a couple of days ago, it wasn’t the offer some may consider a heavyweight. It was an offer, however, that gives his followers an idea of his thought process in the recruiting game.
Wortham picked up an offer from Texas State a couple of days ago, and he said it’s an offer he’s definitely considering because of testimonials from former Hebron standouts. Safety Justin Iwuji is a junior for the Bobcats, and he’s been in contact with both Iwuji and ex-Hebron receiver Phillip Mitchell.
“That definitely helps,” Wortham said. “I haven’t been on campus and haven’t had the chance to mesh with coaches. Seeing how they mesh with coaches gives me an idea of what I can expect. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Texas State. They’re an up-and-coming program, and I’m definitely going to show some interest.”
