Three-star running back Marquis Warford (San Antonio/Madison) on Sunday said he still has his options open after decommitting from Rice earlier this year. Two schools, however, have managed to peak his interest more than the others.
Warford, who decommitted in March, said he’s been in contact mostly with UTEP and Boise State as he ventures deeper into his recruiting process. Warford said he’s unsure of when he’ll announce his commitment -- and choosing Rice is still a possibility -- but UTEP and Boise State are high on his list.
“With UTEP, it’s the way the coaching staff is and the way they interact with their players,” Warford said. “It seems like a good environment to play in. They’ve talked about possibly using me on both sides of the ball, as a running back and a cornerback.
