What started out as a favor for a friend has turned into a potential scholarship offer for defensive end Frankie Davis (Broken Arrow, Okla.).
Davis made a weekend visit to Lawrence, Kan., for a lineman’s camp at the University of Kansas, and the 6-foot-3, 230-pound defensive end put on an impressive showing. He didn’t leave Saturday's camp with a scholarship offer, but he did leave with the Jayhawks coaching staff asking a lot of questions.
“A friend of mine was searching for some camps to go, because he’s trying to get noticed,” Davis said. “He wanted me to go with him, and I said, ‘Why not?’ I just went up there with a friend. At the end of the camp, they said they wanted to recruit me hard.
