Three years removed after his coaching stint at Texas Tech, Mike Leach’s Texas pipeline still runs strong at Washington State.
Leach and his staff on Thursday picked up their fourth commitment of the 2013 recruiting class – the second from Texas – in Demarcus Ayers (Lancaster, Texas/Lancaster). The 5-foot-11, 165-pound standout, recruited as a wide receiver, chose the Cougars over offers from North Texas, Tulsa, Wake Forest and Illinois.
A three-star athlete, Ayers caught 21 passes for 365 yards and six touchdowns as a junior. He also rushed 44 times for 445 yards and five touchdowns. Ayers was recruited to Washington State by inside receivers coach Eric Morris.
