When Kansas commit Montell Cozart (Shawnee Mission, Kan./Bishop Miege) was offered by Illinois last week, he picked up his sixth offer – and arguably his most favorite.
Cozart grew up as an Illinois fan, and when the Fighting Illini extended a scholarship it made the 6-foot-2, 185-pound, dual-threat quarterback reweigh the pros and cons of his current commitment. After careful consideration, Cozart decided that his first instinct was better than his first love.
“I’m still solid to KU,” Cozart said. “Illinois offered as an athlete, so that isn’t something I want to do. My will and desire is to be a quarterback.”
