Fresh off a Dallas Under Armour Sevens championship, Tyler Jones (Stephenville, Texas/Stephenville) is hoping the 7-on-7 football schedule transitions into multiple positives.
Jones, from a team perspective, hopes his team will gain added recognition and respect, particularly being a Texas school that dropped from Class 4A to Class 3A and competing against teams in higher classifications. From an individual perspective, Jones is hoping to use 7-on-7 to gain additional interest from college recruiters.
Currently, the 6-foot-2, 195-pound signal-caller has an offer from Texas State, and defensive tackles coach Reuben Vaughn is his primary contact. Jones also has interest from Houston, Texas Tech, SMU and Louisiana Tech.
