Former Rice commit attracting schools

When running back Marquis Warford (San Antonio/Madison) decommitted from Rice last month, he did so with the hopes of adding new interest. While he’s yet to receive any new offers, he has been in contact with several new schools – just in time for them to see a new and improved Warford.

A 5-foot-8, 172-pound back, Warford said he has increased his 40-yard dash time from 4.44 seconds to 4.42 and his bench press from 320 pounds to 335 since the end of the 2011 season. He has heard from schools that will be keeping an eye on him throughout Madison’s spring football season.

“A lot of schools have said they’re coming down this spring to offer me personally,” Warford said. “Boise State said they want to get me up there for their football camp. Clemson said they want me for a camp, too. Oklahoma State said they’re coming out to watch me during spring football. Houston said they’d be back to watch during spring football.
