The family atmosphere has earned Tulsa another in-state commit.
Quarterback Ben Oberste (Sallisaw, Okla./Sallisaw) confirmed he committed to the Golden Hurricane on Friday afternoon.
“It’s a school with a good tradition, but it’s also the school that has shown me the most interest and stressed how important family is,” Oberste said.
Oberste, 6-foot-1 and 193 pounds, also had offers from Navy and Arkansas State and participated in the Elite 11 QB regional camp in Dallas last month.
Oberste threw for 1,771 yards and 20 touchdowns last season. He also ran for 753 yards and 13 scores. He will be entering his third year as the Sallisaw starter in the fall.
Oberste joins offensive guard Rob Boyd (Vian, Okla./Vian) in committing to Tulsa. Boyd is a three-star prospect.
