Speaking primarily from a skill-position perspective, Cedar Hill (Texas) head football coach Joey McGuire is calling his 2012 team one of the best he’s had.
For starters, the Longhorns will feature two Texas A&M commits in athlete LaQuvionte Gonzalez and receiver Quincy Adeboyejo. They will spearhead a Cedar Hill offense that features nine starters returning from last season – in addition to two part-time starters.
Gonzalez was featured on Tuesday. Here are four other 2013 players to keep an eye on throughout the upcoming season:
QB Damion Hobbs: McGuire gave Hobbs the ultimate compliment for dual-threat quarterbacks, calling him the best signal-caller he’s had to read the run game. Hobbs threw for 997 yards and eight touchdowns and rushed for 875 yards and 11 touchdowns in only seven starts. Hobbs, 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, also only threw one interception for the season. Hobbs, who has offers Arkansas State, Oregon State and Iowa State, showed significant improvement in his passing at the Elite 11 at Cowboys Stadium.
