Running back Ezekiel Elliott (St. Louis, Mo./John Burroughs) enters the week with 19 offers, the latest coming this past week from Tennessee, Kansas and Penn State.
Elliott smiles when he thinks about how far he’s come from a recruiting perspective. It’s hard to believe that at the beginning of the year, he was without an offer. The day before signing day, Arkansas became the first to offer – and the offers have been rolling in since.
“At first, I was pretty skeptical, because things had slowed down after the season was over,” Elliott said. “I figured that schools were focused on 2012 [recruits], but when things slowed down, I was getting kind of scared.
