Fred Ross Jr. (Tyler, Texas/John Tyler) always has been a fan of Oklahoma State and has always seen himself in a Cowboys uniform. Late Friday night, he decided to make things official.
Ross, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound receiver, verbally committed to Oklahoma State following John Tyler’s playoff basketball game Friday. While John Tyler lost the game, Ross was able to get a nice consolation prize by choosing the Cowboys over offers from Texas Tech and Baylor and strong interest from Arkansas.
Ross said he discussed recruiting Friday night with his mother, Kay McCalister, and she helped him make the decision to turn his high interest in Oklahoma State into a verbal pledge.
