Tight end Ben Johnson (Basehor, Kan./Basehor-Linwood) took to Twitter after finalizing major news regarding his recruiting process.
The tweet read: “Officially a jayhawk baby! #kansasfootball”
Johnson, a 6-foot-6, 225-pound tight end, verbally committed to Kansas and became the Jayhawks first commitment of the 2013 recruiting class late Thursday evening. Recruited by Kansas offensive line coach Tim Grunhard and tight ends coach Jeff Blasko, Johnson picked up an offer on Wednesday and made a call to head coach Charlie Weis to give his verbal pledge Thursday.
