Blinn College (Brenham, Texas) had 14 players sign national letters of intent to four-year programs Wednesday, according to a campus release. Twelve of the 14 signed with FBS programs.
Of the 14 players, four were junior college All-Americans. Running back Marion Grice (Aldine, Texas/Nimitz) signed with Arizona State, offensive lineman Armondo Alvarez (Houston, Texas/North Shore) signed with UTSA, defensive tackle John Gandy (Cypress, Texas/Cy-Ridge) signed with Arkansas State, and defensive back Jeremy Baltazar (Mansfield, Texas/Timberview) signed with Minnesota.
Offensively, Grice, 6 foot and 215 pounds, had a Southwest Junior College Football Conference-leading 1,052 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns. Alvarez, 6-foot-3 and 300 pounds, was a major contributor for an offense that averaged 513 yards per game, which ranked second in the nation among jucos.
