Once a Houston commit, defensive lineman Ira Lewis (Houston/Lamar) said he had to make a decision that best suited his future -- and by “future,” he wasn’t necessarily referring to his football career.
Lewis on Sunday confirmed that he has verbally committed to Baylor. A 6-foot-4, 260-pound defensive end/defensive tackle hybrid, Lewis became the Bears’ 16th overall commitment.
Lewis, who originally committed to Houston in May, said Baylor’s academic reputation ultimately won him over. He is looking to attend medical school following his undergraduate studies.
