With the majority of players from the 2013 recruiting class signed, some programs are now looking to fill the final one or two spots. Many programs use those last spots for special teams positions, whether it be kickers, punters or long snappers.
Kyle Heffron (San Antonio/Reagan) is hoping to become one of those specialty players to play college ball. A reserve right guard for Reagan, Heffron knew his chance to see playing time would be on special teams, and he’s taken advantage of that.
Heffron now is one of the few high school long snappers with an average snap time of less than eight seconds.
