Brandon Harris must feel like he's going through a tryout camp.

The 2014 quarterback from Bossier City, La.'s Parkway High has had coaches coming by his school all week to either watch him throw individually or to watch his team practice.

The week has worked out well for him so far. After a good workout in front of a group of teams led by Ohio State on Monday, Harris said he's been seen by Texas A&M, Tennessee, Baylor, South Florida and Louisiana Tech. Those workouts have yielded a new development in his recruiting process.

ESPN 150 offensive tackle Roderick Johnson (Florissant, Mo./Hazelwood Central) had his spring game invitations this past week. His mind, however, is focused on helping his track and field team get as many accolades as possible.

Johnson is a thrower for Hazelwood Central, and while interested schools such as Missouri and Arkansas held spring games on Saturday, he was participating in a track meet in Kansas.

“We had a meet at KU. It was my first time going,” Johnson said. “It was a good experience.

Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy wasn’t pleased with how the Cowboys attacked the Oklahoma high school scene for the Class of 2013.

He said it would change for the Class of 2014. Saturday was more proof of that as top in-state outside linebacker Gyasi Akem (Broken Arrow, Okla./Broken Arrow) confirmed in a text message that he committed to the Cowboys at the school's spring game.

ALLEN, Texas -- Some recruits have been all over the country and have taken visits to all their top schools. But ESPN Watch List defensive end Deondre Clark (Oklahoma City/Douglass) isn't one of them.

Clark hasn't ventured far from Oklahoma this year, and that won't change anytime soon. But he definitely will look at schools outside the state.

Whenever he has the chance to compete, he's taking advantage of it.

Watch List offensive tackle Andy Bauer (St. Louis/De Smet) works hard for everything he gets, but he doesn’t ask for much in return. There are only a couple of things he wants before he graduates next year.

A state championship would be nice. All-state recognition would serve as an added bonus. A college scholarship also would be a dream come true -- even though, with a list nearing 40 offers, that dream will become a reality in time.

One thing that Bauer has wanted is an invitation to play in the Under Armour All-America Game, and on Tuesday, the 6-foot-6, 304-pound tackle had his wish granted. Bauer received the invitation and happily accepted, and he’ll be a part of the 2014 edition of the prestigious all-star game.
