Michigan State anxious to offer O-lineman 
Initially, the Spartans staff was planning to wait until the spring evaluation period in April to watch Chase Gianacakos (Saint Charles, Ill./Saint Charles North) work out. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound offensive tackle visited Michigan State in February, and Mark Dantonio told Gianacakos the Spartans were not ready to offer.
He continued to stay in contact with offensive line coach Mark Staten, though. Two weeks ago, Staten just asked Gianacakos to send him a tape of him working out.

Johnson hesitant to name OSU his leader 
A longtime Ohio State lean who wanted to commit to the Buckeyes a few months ago, Johnson stopped himself short of naming Ohio State his leader Monday.
Asked if Ohio State was still his top school, Johnson said: “Yeah, Ohio State," then paused before he said "... really I got a three-headed dragon: It’s Illinois, Nebraska and Ohio State. They’re all at the top of my list. I don’t know where I’m going to go at this point.”

“Yesterday I got offers from Georgia and Michigan State on the same day,” Newell said. “So it has been definitely crazy. I think I have gotten an offer from every conference. It is overwhelming and exciting. And I am very blessed to be in the situation that I am in with being able to have my choice on where to go. So I am really excited for next year.”
The Bulldogs’ coaching staff may be the latest offer but Newell has been on Georgia’s radar for a while.

ESPN 300 DT Augusta sets decision date 
The No. 161 prospect in the ESPN 300, Augusta will make his commitment Sunday, he told ESPN.com in a text message. He is the second highest-rated uncommitted prospect in the Midwest.
Augusta was scheduled to visit Illinois this coming weekend, but he said that visit is canceled. His only official visits will have been to Missouri (Dec. 7) and Ole Miss (Nov. 23).
