Last year, McKeesport (Pa.) coach Jim Ward sent three players to Division I schools. He could match that number this year and possibly exceed it.
Three-star linebacker Tyrone Neal has a top two of Nebraska and West Virginia and has a number of other schools looking at him.
Inside linebacker Terrell Williams is being looked at by Texas Tech and will visit soon.
“He is going to visit Texas Tech and UMass soon,” Ward said. “We’re also waiting on a couple of other schools.”
Texas Tech, which signed two McKeesport players last year, is close to offering, Ward said.
“They want to make sure he is tall enough, which he is,” Ward said of Williams, who is listed at 6-foot-3. “If they felt comfortable with that, they were going to offer.”
Receiver Jamar Clark has an offer from Youngstown State and Ward said his senior tape is being evaluated by just about every MAC school.
Offensive tackle Christian Wilson recently committed to Youngstown State over offers from MAC programs Buffalo and Ohio.
“He went up there and he thoroughly enjoyed the staff and the area,” Ward said of Wilson’s commitment. “He was excited about the opportunities there and felt it was a great fit.”
Two of McKeesport's juniors, Hodari Christian and Ed Stockett will be Division I prospects as well.
