Three-star juco Altamirano picks Maryland

The Terrapins have picked up a verbal commitment from junior college offensive tackle Silvano Altamirano (San Diego, Calif./Mesa CC), multiple sources report.
Southern Methodist and Washington State also offered the 6-foot-4, 290-pound prospect.
ESPN believes Altamirano has the skill set to make an immediate impact: "[He] displays swing tackle ability and his size, athleticism and playing strength should allow him to play immediately at the BCS level of competition."
Maryland now has 18 commitments for the Class of 2013.
