Offensive tackle Jason Tretter (Richfield, Ohio/Revere) was focusing on Ivy League programs Harvard and Yale, and after visiting both in consecutive weeks, he has a definite leader.
Tretter took a visit to Yale this past weekend, and the Bulldogs are his clear No. 1.
"I loved it. Yale has moved up to my top [school]," he said.
It was the first time Tretter was at Yale, although he was in New England two weekends ago when he visited Harvard the weekend of Dec. 7.
Tretter was the only official visitor on campus, which meant a lot to the 6-foot-7, 310-pound lineman.
"I was the only recruit on the visit so I got to hang out with the coaches a ton and really connected with them," Tretter said.
One more visit is on the agenda for Tretter before he makes a decision. Virginia assistant Bill Lazor came to see Tretter two weeks ago, and the Cavaliers could extend a late offer.
Lazor and Tretter will talk soon to set up an official visit.
"One of the last two weeks in January," Tretter said regarding when the visit could take place. "Coach Lazor is coming to visit one of the first couple of days in January to plan it."
