One of the first calls new Tennessee coach Butch Jones made after taking the job was to the mother of ESPN 300 athlete Tyler Boyd. That was last week.
On Friday, just a few hours after Boyd and his Clairton (Pa.) teammates won a fourth straight state title and 63rd straight game, the Volunteers staff made another call to the Boyd camp. Jones let Boyd know he had an offer from the Volunteers.
