With less than two minutes to go in the state final, Paramus (N.J.) Catholic broke out of its Wildcat offense and into the shotgun. Lucky for the Paladins, they have two BCS-level receivers on the outside to throw to.
Junior Tyrone Washington caught a 50-yard touchdown with around 90 seconds left to lift Paramus Catholic to a state title, its first in more than a decade.
“I did what I do best and that’s catch the ball,” Washington said. “That’s why I was out there and that’s why I’m a receiver. I gotta do what I do best.”
