Tre' Bell excited for upcoming visits

4/5/2012

With 20 offers under his belt, cornerback Tre’ Bell (Jersey City, N.J./St. Peter’s Prep) is ready to ramp up the visits, and he will make three over the next three weekends.

On Saturday, Bell will visit Florida for its spring game. It will be the first time Bell, a Florida fan growing up, will see the program up close.

“I cannot wait to see The Swamp,” he said. “I’m going to see some fast and high-tempo football.”

Bell picked up his offer from Florida in February and has kept in contact with the staff at least once a week. He speaks regularly with coach Will Muschamp, secondary coach Travaris Robinson and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. Bell will have a few questions for them when he finally gets to meet them in person.

“Just about how they use their corners on defense,” he said. “I want to get a chance to see that, see how they use their defense. Of course questions about education and things like that.”

As a Gator fan growing up, would Bell commit on his visit to Florida?

“I don’t know. It would have to be something I talk about with my parents.”

On April 14, Bell will visit one of Florida’s SEC East rivals. He will be in Columbia for South Carolina’s spring game.

Much like his Florida visit, Bell wants to meet the staff, especially coach Steve Spurrier. Bell has been in contact with Gamecocks assistant G.A. Mangus but has yet to speak with Spurrier.

“I want to get a chance to see how they use their DBs as well. They play a lot of them,” he said.

Bell’s last scheduled visit will go to a place he has seen once before. He was at West Virginia for its junior day in February and will be back for the spring game April 21.

“They showed me a great time,” Bell said of his junior day trip. “I went to see a basketball game. I had a chance to talk to coach [Dana] Holgorsen. I was with [assistant Daron] Roberts basically the whole time.

“… I want to see the football part now. I want to see how exciting they really are. I can’t wait to get down there."
