Great morning for the Hokies

Following the commitment of ESPNU 150 ATH Joel Caleb (Midlothian, Va./Clover Hill), Virginia’s top player, the Hokies landed their second top in-state talent of the day as four-star outside linebacker Ken Ekanem (Clifton, Va./Centreville) announced his intention to matriculate in Blacksburg.

Considered a strong Virginia Tech lean heading into Wednesday morning, Ekanem also received scholarship offers from Notre Dame, Boston College, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Duke, Wake Forest, Rutgers, Penn State, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Illinois, North Carolina, Pittsburgh and Oregon.

Ekanem is one of the most physically gifted linebackers in the county. He possesses ideal size at 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds, runs a 4.6 40, and owns a 30-inch vertical.
