Boston College High School beat Needham to win the Eastern Massachusetts Division I Super Bowl earlier this month, and did so with two-star running back Preston Cooper in street clothes.
Cooper, a 5-foot-7, 175-pound senior, suffered a broken fibula in late October and missed B.C. High's last seven games. In addition to bringing his senior season to a premature end, the injury may have derailed Cooper's chance of playing college football next season as well.
“At this point I'm just talking to Maine, URI [Rhode Island], UNH [New Hampshire] and a couple of Division II schools, so I'm looking at a couple of prep schools just in case,” Cooper said. “If I get an offer I'll probably go with that. If not, I'll take a post-graduate year, get healthy and see what options I have then.”
