Despite a loss to its bitter rival, Tennessee cemented its standing with Jalen Tabor.
The Watch List safety from Washington Friendship told ESPN that Tennessee is firmly in his top five, along with Alabama, Maryland, Ohio State and Florida.
"It was great," Tabor said via text message when asked about the visit. "I couldn't ask for anything more."
Tennessee lost to Alabama 44-13 to drop to 3-4 and 0-4 in the SEC. There has been widespread speculation that there could be a coaching change if third-year coach Derek Dooley doesn't turn things around for the Vols. Tabor said he has a good relationship with Dooley, defensive coordinator Sal Sunseri, offensive coordinator Jim Chaney and cornerbacks coach Derrick Ansley.
"Yeah, that's my only worry about Tennessee," Tabor said when asked of a potential coaching change.
Tabor said he doesn't have more visits planned at this time. The junior has long shown strong interest in the Vols. He has visited the campus several times.
Landing Tabor could provide a windfall for any school. Friendship is one of the most talented schools in the East region.
When asked about Alabama's performance Saturday, Tabor stated, "They are just a great program. There's nothing I can say about UA."
