CB Kendall Fuller to announce Sunday

7/27/2012

It is coming down to the wire for ESPN 150 cornerback Kendall Fuller (Olney, Md./Our Lady of Mercy). The No. 20 prospect in the country, Fuller said he plans to choose between Clemson and Virginia Tech on Sunday at noon, during the Champion Gridiron Kings event at Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Fuller visited Clemson last weekend, and said the trip did little to change how he felt about the Tigers.

"I had already pretty much fell in love with the school, so I just went up there to spend more time with the players and the coaches," Fuller said.

The Hokies have been in the mix throughout his recruitment, and location could help Virginia Tech's chances to land the four-star cornerback.

"It is just somewhere I have been a lot of times with me being from up there," Fuller said. "I was able to hang out with the coaches and players the last time I visited Virginia Tech as well," Fuller said.

With the 5-foot-11, 190-pound defensive back's decision less than 48 hours away, Fuller says he is not sure yet of which program will get his commitment.

"I do not know where I am going to go yet," Fuller said. " I am just going to pray about it and see what happens Sunday. But the season is about to start, so I want to have a clear mind and focus on winning a state championship."

Fuller had said earlier on Twitter he plans to make his declaration Sunday. His announcement and the finals of Gridiron Kings can be seen live online at ESPN3 starting at noon ET and then broadcast later in the day on ESPNU at 7 p.m. ET.

Fuller, who is 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds, has listed Clemson, Michigan and Virginia Tech as his top three teams. He also has offers from a slew of national programs like Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and others.

He is ranked as the nation’s No. 5 cornerback and the No. 2 player in Maryland.
