Despite some Internet chatter to the contrary, Chris Laviano has not yet received a scholarship offer from Miami.
“Miami hasn't offered yet but they're the closest,” the quarterback from Hicksville (N.Y.) Holy Trinity stated via text message to ESPN.
A recent strong showing during the Elite 11 regional in Texas has boosted the quarterback's stock, despite playing in an area not known for top-flight quarterback prospects.
Laviano said he believes North Carolina and Maryland are also close to offering him a scholarship. He currently has scholarship offers from Boston College and Rutgers.
