Jameson McShea picks Harvard not BC

1/26/2012

Boston College hasn't had much luck with in-state recruits from the Class of 2012, and another local player slipped off the hook Wednesday when three-star tight end Jameson McShea (Cotuit, Mass./Boston College High) committed to Harvard.

McShea confirmed his decision via text message Thursday morning.

McShea committed to Temple last summer, but reopened his recruitment last month and had narrowed his choices to BC and Harvard. BC assistant coach Sean Devine offered McShea a scholarship Saturday, shortly after tight end Sam Grant decommitted from BC.

McShea is the No. 6 recruit from Massachusetts in this year's class. Massachusetts has six players in the Class of 2012 rated with three stars or better. Five of the six have committed and none selected BC.

Four-star athlete Armani Reeves, the state's top recruit, is expected to choose either Michigan or Ohio State.
