Three-star offensive tackle Ryan Brodie (Long Branch, N.J./Long Branch) has spent much of December whittling down the number of colleges he's considering.
Brodie, the No. 11 prospect from New Jersey in the Class of 2012, had trimmed his list to five schools last week but said via text message that he's now considering only three: Rutgers, Miami and Connecticut.
Brodie, who didn't begin playing organized football until his sophomore season, scratched West Virginia from his list after taking an official visit there earlier this month. Illinois also made his top five.
