Three-star linebacker Tyler Burke (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) committed to Maryland on Tuesday and became the Terrapins' seventh commit.
"I just like all the coaches and players, and I just get that feeling when I'm on campus," Burke said. "They have been recruiting me for over a year now, so it shows they want me."
Burke chose Maryland over a dozen other schools, including Boston College, UConn, Georgia Tech, UMass, N.C. State, Old Dominion, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound linebacker played tight end and linebacker for Coatesville, which reached the state title game last fall before coming up short. Burke still impressed, though, with 17 solo tackles, two assisted stops and two fumble recoveries in that game.
He's the third defensive commit of the 2014 class for Maryland, and he's the first linebacker.
