Penn State head coach Pat Chambers landed a major commitment last week in junior Brandon Austin (Philadelphia/Imhotep Charter).
Austin’s commitment was a big one for Penn State for a number of reasons. He is the highest-rated prospect to commit to the Nittany Lions since 2010 and he's capable of stepping right in to play immediate minutes when he arrives as a freshman. He also gives the Nittany Lions an advantage moving forward, having now already solidified their 2013 backcourt with Austin and Geno Thorpe (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler).
Hower, perhaps even more important than the commitment itself, is the message it says about Penn State’s growing presence in the Philadelphia area.
