ESPN 100 center Karviar Shepherd (Dallas/Prime Prep Academy), the No. 46 overall prospect in the Class of 2013, has committed to TCU over Texas A&M, Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma.

"I picked TCU because it was close to home and I really like the coaching staff," said Shepherd, who played travel ball with the Urban DFW Elite. "They really do a great job of improving bigs like they did at Stanford with the Lopez twins."

Shepherd will provide first-year Horned Frogs coach Trent Johnson with a true center who has rapidly improved and is one of the best rebounders and defenders in the class. He is also an excellent low-post position defender and blocks shots on the ball or coming to the aid of a teammate from the weak side.
